Assistant Volunteer Coordinator
The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for occasionally updating and maintaining the current volunteer database, and for acting as a liaison between new and existing volunteers and Bad Science Watch, reporting to the Volunteer Coordinator as required. The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator will refer existing volunteers to project managers, and will screen, recruit and onboard new volunteers when needed. Assistance with the development of orientation materials and regular surveying for volunteers is also expected. In the event of the absence of the Volunteer Coordinator, the Assistant Volunteer Coordinator will perform his or her duties, reporting directly to the Executive Director.
The successful volunteer will have a professional demeanor and strong organizational and interpersonal communications skills. Experience in communications would be an asset.
Total time commitment will average 2-3 hours per week. There is some flexibility to the role, as the Assistant Volunteer Coordinator will be expected to respond to all inquiries within a timely manner.
