WordPress Developer: French Implementation
Job Description
The WordPress Developer will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the French version of the Bad Science Watch website. The project will require the implementation of 5-6 pages of our website. The volunteer will be responsible for the layout and optimization of the pages ensuring an efficient, visually balanced page that will be the first contact for the public, the media and our supporters to engage with Bad Science Watch in French.
Minor copy editing may be required, but all copy is already written for the project.
Qualifications
The successful volunteer will have experience using the WordPress interface and some knowledge of SEO optimization, however, professional experience as a web developer is not necessary. Proficiency in written French is an asset, but not necessary.
Time Commitment
The project is expected to take 10-20 hours of work. Future maintenance of the site is optional, but implementation is the current focus.

WordPress Developer: Phase III of the De-Registration of Homeopathic Nosodes Project
Job Description
The WordPress Developer will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the web portion of phase III of the De-Registration of Homeopathic Nosodes project. The project will require the design and implementation of the public contact page and 2-3 sub-pages associated with the project. The volunteer will be responsible for the layout and optimization of the page, ensuring an efficient, visually balanced page that will be the contact point for the public, the media, and our supporters to engage with the project.
Minor copy editing may be required, but all copy is already written for the project. A petition page and other activist tools will also be part of the project.
Qualifications
The successful volunteer will have experience using the WordPress interface and some knowledge of SEO optimization, however, professional experience as a web developer is not necessary. Knowledge of graphic design is an asset.
Time Commitment
The project is expected to take only 10-15 hours of work over a 3 week period. There may be an opportunity, if the volunteer is available to update the site from time to time over the next 3-4 months, but this is not a requirement at this time.

Media Coordinator
Job Description
The Media Coordinator will be responsible for producing all media releases, distributing the releases to all of our media and PR contacts, and managing the media response to the releases by connecting media requests with designated Bad Science Watch spokespeople. The Media Coordinator with report directly to the Executive Director and will work with the committee or project manager requesting the media release to produce a concise, detailed and efficient message.
Qualifications
The successful volunteer will have experience crafting media releases and communicating with the media and will have a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal communications skills. Training in media relations or communications would be an asset and a general knowledge of science advocacy topics will be helpful.
Time Commitment
On average 1-2 media releases will be released per month with a 1-2 day response period. Ability to respond to email communications within a 24 hour period will be essential. Total time commitment will average 2 hours per week, on average, with an “on-call” period of several hours the day of the release. The time of release is flexible to accommodate the availability of the volunteer.

Graphic Artists (2-3)
Job Description
Graphic Artists will be responsible for the production of visual elements to complement our website, video projects, and/or corporate communications projects.
Qualifications
The successful volunteer will have experience in Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent and have strong design and communications skills. Professional experience is an asset but not necessary. A portfolio will be very helpful to help us understand your skills.
Time Commitment
The time commitment will be variable and project specific. Currently we have 2-3 projects of about 10-20 hours each, and multiple artists can be employed to cover each project.
